This is the 1st Deus ex machine story that I liked. I even favourited it. You really handled it well like a surgeon handles his scalpel. Kudos.
However, the there is one flaw. a full body MRI I get annoyed when patients ask for it. A brain MRI, those get done every day, a full brain MRI, that is doable. But a full body MRI is too much for an average citizen

An MRI scanner has a hugh electromagnetic field when it is running. The object in Scott's eye is a steel bomb fragment which has ferrious properties (i.e., its magnetic). As such when the MRI scanner was turned on with Scott inside it, that ferrous particle would have been ripped out of his eye by the EMF.

An MRI is a medical diagnostic machine. MREs (meals ready to eat) are what the military use for food on-the-go. I'll go back and finish the story later when I have time. It's a long one.
