Ok, I have to admit it I'm not into scat and yet this story made it highly erotic. All the strep floating around and I'm turned on! Ah, but could I cope with the reality?

A modern documentary vantage point looking back at distant long past imbroglio. Oh for a time machine, I'd want Hitchcock to direct and Meryl Strep circa 2000 to play the mom.
Maybe Karen Black would work, back in her Milf heyday, if you want it to get really weird. Nice impersonal tone maintained despite increasingly tawdry incidents compiled from start to finish.

Didn't like it. The idea of nemesis is awesome but the story itself failed. One problem, her parents didn't like Curtis but they kept him employed? Why?
More importantly the AIDS angle is like having someone infected w strep throat. AIDS is treatable and in fact the treatments are such that it is very hard for someone w treated hiv to infect someone.
A much better way would have been for Nemesis to take Curtis from Carol, turn him into her love slave ( remember she us Nemesis,), totally get him under her thumb then throw him away, leaving him a shell. I would say she could have done that with Carol but Curtis wouldn't care about her....
Just lacked imagination.

Your female characters tend to have a hole in their head.
All of them make ridiculously stupid decisions.
I wouldn't even have called this a romance. There was nothing but sex. Ok im sorry, he took care of her for a couple days when she had strep. But she also told him she felt sick and her whole body hurt and he fucked her? That is not believable behavior to me. Yeah they made each other tingle but there was still nothing but sex. Every time they needed to talk they kept putting it off. There is no romance or relationships without communication. This is almost entirely a stroke story with a bit of plot to glue it together.

First of all I'm going to thank you for correcting me on the particulars of the infidelity particulars in the emotion inflaming series by RG ' Another Love '. It appears though the affair continued on a greatly limited basis nearly up to time of Philipe's death with greatest intensity ending upon Robert 's return from war. It's been a long time since I first read the story and my memory played me up. My bad.
In answer to your thought provocative question - I'm going to have to annoy you with dual answers. If I were Robert , I would forgive her. Ultimately the tipping point ty o divorce or reconciliation is am I happier with or without her .
Frankly I mentioned in my comments that although the husband was a mechanical savant and a decent enough fellow - emotionally he bordered on being autistic. Long story short he's better off with his far more vibrant and dynamic wife who accepts and : understands his limitations and nurtures him .
If you remember the Robert got tutored carnally by her ( post affair ) before hubby was a borderline 2 pump chump with no inclinations to step up his game.
It's my general rule of thumb good men after 40 are much harder to find then women in same age range. But this is an exception to that rule , it's my interpretation of the characters that the stiff and socially awkward husband would have had much harder time replacing her, then she with him..
What would I do ? That's hard to say . I have had experience on the shitty end of the infidelity stick . The woman , a few years later, made overtures and I gave her a miss. But she was a very hurtful during that painful period. Attractive women can get away with a lot and I assure you , C. was a looker. Let's just say I would forgive Meryl Strep ( if she were my age ) , but send Kimi1990 ( regardless of annums ) packing. Lol.
