The idea

A network that carries Kabyle knowledge across borders.

Axxam n Tmusni links Kabyles who live in Kabylia with those who live abroad. Writers, translators, teachers and specialists share what they know.

The aim is simple: young people should learn in their own language, understand the world they live in and grow into free and curious minds.

What we work for

Four goals guide our work.

  1. 01

    Connect

Bring together Kabyles in the homeland and across the diaspora.

  2. 02

    Educate

Online training for young people in language, computer science, media, environmental protection and leadership.

  3. 03

    Protect

Projects that respect the environment and keep villages and rivers clean.

  4. 04

    Cultivate

Mountain agriculture that brings the slopes of Kabylia back to life.

Children in the classroom of the House of Knowledge

Our story

It began in one family, in one village.

Manis Amrioui started the House of Knowledge in his own family and his home village in Kabylia. A simple garage became a school where children learned to read and write Kabyle, to ask questions and to think for themselves.

The house was later closed by the authorities. The work carried on: online, through our books and together with Kabyles all over the world.

The doors were closed. The minds stayed open.
