Seine Memoiren sind sowohl ein erschütterndes persönliches Zeugnis als auch ein wichtiges Kulturmanifest für ein internationales Publikum.

En publiant ce livre, je me sens enfin renaître ! Je suis né en Kabylie, où ma famille a constamment été déchirée, fuyant les persécutions des guerres qu’a connues mon pays. Nous avons enduré de nombreuses épreuves, la faim et le froid. Le bombardement de notre maison par l’armée française a disloquée toute la famille. Je suis le seul à avoir eu la chance de poursuivre des études. Après avoir fait le fameux lycée de Dellys, je suis parti en Allemagne où je suis devenu ingénieur.

En hirondelle, je n’ai jamais arrêté de retourner auprès de ma terre natale. À présent, à 73 ans, je vis en exil. J’ai concrétisé de multiples initiatives en faveur des enfants de mon pays, notamment Axxam n Tmusni. Un simple garage transformé en une école et qui a défié les oppresseurs du savoir. Ce livre est un témoignage de mon expérience de vie. Une vie pleine de joies et de frustrations mais un engagement infaillible en faveur des enfants de ma Kabylie.
